Blaze Bayley first made his name as the frontman of Wolfsbane.
However, it was in 1994 that he truly cemented his name in Metal History, when he received one of the most-coveted positions in the business… Lead Singer for Iron Maiden!
Over the next five years, Blaze would record two albums with the band (1995’s X Factor and 1998’s Virtual XI) before departing in 1999, to make way for Dickinson’s return.
Following his departure from Maiden, Blaze formed his own band; BLAZE. He released three albums under this moniker; Silicon Messiah, Tenth Dimension and Blood & Belief, before a string of line-up changes led to a total rebrand.
In 2007, the “Blaze Bayley Band” burst onto the scene with a whole new line-up, which produced two more fantastic albums.
Blaze is currently backed by Absolva, whom he has worked with since late 2013. This partnership has so far brought about the “Infinite Entanglement” trilogy of albums, as well as 2 live releases.
In addition to his solo work, Blaze continues to perform with Wolfsbane, and has released an EP and an Album with classical guitarist Thomas Zwijsen, who performed an impromptu set at the first Burr Fest, in 2017.
At Burr Fest 2020, Blaze and his band will be performing a very special “Iron Maiden Anniversary Set”, consisting entirely of songs from his tenure with the metal icons.
